Applications are being accepted for a full-time Area Curator position with a focus on special projects to include resource management, animal transports, exhibit audits, and species planning. This position will cross train to cover curatorial duties across the zoo as needed and work closely with other departments to help manage animal-related projects. Must enjoy creating and conducting impactful guest experiences through Wild Encounters, Keeper Chats, and VIP tours. Experience hand rearing a variety of species is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- The Area Curator is a management position that directly oversees, organizes, and administers operations in specified animal areas, provides general supervision of employees, and assists with other zoo operations as required.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field and five years of zoo experience and two years of supervisory experience, or equivalent combination, are required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of species and systems in area of assignment; knowledge of wellbeing, enrichment, and operant conditioning; and other experiences related to specific situations in the assigned areas are preferred.
