Conservation Standards Coordinator

The Conservation Standards Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the Conservation Science Wildlife Health (CSWH) teams use and application of the Conservation Standards and MiradiShare software including but not limited to: organizing Conservation Standards trainings, providing individual coaching and peer mentorship for project teams, reviewing all Miradi projects to ensure minimum requirements are met, conducting quarterly progress reviews alongside the Conservation Hub Portfolio Manager, providing recommendations to increase effectiveness. This position reports to the Conservation Hub Portfolio Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Provide Conservation Standards/Miradi coaching and mentorship to project managers, portfolio managers and/or other project management staff, often without direct reporting relationship.
  • Review and assess progress/effectiveness for all conservation projects, ensure project teams are tracking key project milestones and recommend adjustments to Project Manager, Directors, and the Conservation Hub Oversight Committee.
  • Organize and coordinate Conservation Standards trainings, both introductory and advanced.
  • Assist with development and execution of annual Conservation Standards Summit.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Conservation Standards and MiradiShare, experience and confidence in mentoring and coaching teams in conservation planning and adaptive management; and be able to work with a variety of teams across different disciplines.
  • Candidate should be comfortable working with and advising both peers and higher-level team members as well providing recommendations to leadership about project progress, effectiveness, and strategic alignment to organizational priorities. Candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills, strength in leading large groups, and foundational knowledge of conservation strategies and monitoring and evaluation of conservation projects.
JOB EXPERIENCE
  • Two or more years of project management methodologies and tools. 
  • Two or more years of relevant experience coordinating, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of conservation projects. 
  • Two or more years of experience with Conservation Standards coaching 
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Conservation or Program Management, or related field required
  • Master’s Degree in Conservation or Program Management, or related field preferred 
  • Ideal candidate shows biodiversity conservation literacy and is familiar with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, Center for Biological Diversity, Conservation Standards and Miradi Share software. 
  • Project Management certification is preferred or equivalent experience. 
  • Conservation Standards Coaching Certification within 1 Year required
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of Conservation Standards and Miradi Share software
  • demonstrated. 
  • Strong working knowledge of conservation and life science. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead highly effective teams. 
  • Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 
  • Able to operate moderately complex computer software programs. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly complex situations with a high level of tact and diplomacy. 
  • Experience coaching teams to maximize effectiveness.

Salary
  • Hourly Range: $28.32 to $31.32
