  • The Development Services Coordinator provides analysis, support, and services to advance the fundraising mission of Lincoln Park Zoo.
  • The Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include using the zoo’s fundraising databases, Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce, to accurately enter contributions and donor data, maintain constituent records, and generate timely donor acknowledgements.
  • Successful candidates will be task-oriented, work well independently and as part of a team, possess time-management skills, and remain attentive as data practices evolve.
  • This position will prioritize accuracy and integrity to support department-wide database utilization, donor stewardship, and prospect research.
  • Attention to detail and appropriate handling of confidential information is a must.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Relevant database management experience in a nonprofit development setting
  • Proven ability to review data, identify trends, and report discrepancies
  • Proficiency with writing queries, forms, and segmenting large quantities of data
  • Problem solving skills to address immediate concerns and amend processes moving forward
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work cooperatively and maintain flexibility as priorities change
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Previous experience with Blackbaud products (Raiser's Edge) or Salesforce preferred
  • Understanding of membership platforms, benefits structures, and donor services
  • Experience in prospect research a plus
  • Utmost discretion in handling confidential data
Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of gifts, including generating donor acknowledgements and membership cards
  • Maintain and update constituent records in database and membership platforms
  • Draft and edit donor acknowledgment letters, complete revisions, and update letter templates
  • Run regular reports to verify accuracy of data entry and make necessary corrections
  • Reconcile and submit donations and financial transactions with Accounting Department
  • Identify and recommend procedures for data accuracy, integrity, and efficient use of Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce
  • Troubleshoot data issues and proactively identify solutions
  • Produce new queries and prepare ad hoc reports to fulfill data retrieval requests for Development Department staff using Query and Export modules
  • Prepare, as assigned, prospect research and donor briefings to support solicitations and portfolio management of Development staff
  • Maintain integrity and security of the fundraising database and donor information
  • Flexibility and the ability to perform in a pressure-filled environment
  • Other duties as assigned, including working special events as needed
Experience and/or Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered alternatively to a degree
Requirements:
  • Must be able to work seated in front of a computer for extended periods of time
Additional Requirements:
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends for special events or to complete seasonal responsibilities
Compensation and Schedule:
  • Full-time benefit eligible
  • Position is hourly: 7 hours working with 1 hour break daily, equivalent 35 hours per week
  • Starting hourly rate of $22.50 to $24.90 per hour, equivalent $40,950 to $45,318 annually
  • Hybrid schedule with option to work remote two days per week
  • Anticipated start Date: October 14th, 2024
  • This position will report to the Director of Development Services

Salary
  • $22.50 to $24.90 /hr
