Donor Relations Specialist

General Statement: The Donor Relations Specialist is a self-motivated, organized professional supporting the Donor Relations Team. This position is required to engage donors, maintain positive donor relationships and support all fundraising efforts to advance the ACNC’s mission. Duties include but are not limited to donor correspondence, administrative support, data entry and donor record maintenance, coordination of donor programs and events, participation in and coordination of meetings for fundraising support groups and direct donor engagement as a representative of the Donor Relations Team.

Essential Duties:                           
  • Provide quality guest service to both internal and external guests by maintaining a WILD (friendly, helpful, positive and professional) working attitude and appearance.
  • Support donor relations efforts by processing and recording contributions timely, preparing and/or reviewing acknowledgement letters, initiating donor correspondence to satisfy donor recognition and fulfillment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating online and written donor records to support report generation for annual report, donor boards, event programs, and other forms of donor recognition.
  • Responsible for coordinating, evaluating and/or supporting existing and new donor stewarding and cultivation programs and events. 
  • Responsible for maintaining records within the donor database and generating reports either routinely or on an ad hoc basis, including the design and execution of queries and performing data analysis.
  • Assist with philanthropic membership development including acquisitions and renewals.
  • Assist with planned giving initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Assist in cultivating relationships with donors and volunteers via tours, written correspondence, phone calls and donor outreach at special events.
  • Liaison to the Auxiliary, assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating programs and other needs, to build and maintain donor relations with its members.
  • Work with the Senior Vice President of Institution Advancement to coordinate the department’s annual revenue, expense, and capital campaign budgets, including forecasting.

Qualifications
  • A college degree with two to three years of fundraising experience preferred.
  • Prior budgeting/financial reporting experience desired.
  • Extensive experience with Raiser’s Edge and database management preferred.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills, with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter, creative and a team player, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background and DMV check, drug test, and annual TB test.
