We are currently on the search for an Education Operations Manager to add to our flock!

The Education Operations Manager is a key member of the Education Leadership team. This position is responsible for directing the planning, development, and facilitation of all customer communication, data management and registration (developing and managing systems as well as collecting fees). In addition, the Education Operations Manager is responsible for the architecting of the education customer experience, from the web-presence and marketing materials to the continuing communication post program, ensuring the highest level of customer service.
This position facilitates the safe management of all education program customer data (some of which is sensitive). The Education Operations Manager collaborates closely with the other Education management team to define annual program calendars and build timelines for all schedules and marketing deadlines. They collaborate across team to create and manage all marketing and registration materials for the Education department. This role is responsible for supervising part-time Education Services Associate staff.
The successful candidate will have a two (2) year Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field such as Education, Environmental Science/ Education, or Museum Studies, etc. A four (4) year Bachelor’s degree is preferable. This is a full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, position that typically works a Monday-Friday schedule. This position may work the occasional weekend, evening shift(s) due to event and peak season needs.
Responsibilities and Experience for this position include, (but are not limited to):
- Collaborates closely with the other Education managers to define annual program calendars and build timelines for all schedules and marketing deadlines.
- Represents education in cross departmental groups, such as Events, ensuring that there is communication regarding education events, events that involve the Education team, and use of the Hix Institute.
- Manages event set up for all Educational Programs to ensure all rooms are set up as needed.
- Supervises a team of Education Services Associates who support the operation functions of the Education Team.
- Designs and publishes required reports for sales, attendance, surveys and grants, and compile data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Manages the education aspect of the GO! field trip program, which provides free admission to schools and groups.
- Provides operational support to the Director of Education and other Education team members, such as ordering of materials, maintaining inventories, and managing room reservations.
- Ability to detect, assess, identify, and observe surroundings to make sound judgments, along with the ability to communicate verbally, comprehend and decipher information accurately, using a two-way radio and telephone.
- Position requires the ability to move from one area to another frequently, and to transport items (up to 15 lbs.) across grounds for various needs.
- A minimum of four (4) years in customer service and/or administrative experience is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience working in a non-for-profit or informal educational setting is preferred.
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook) and MS Teams and MS One Drive is required.
- Experience with various software to communicate with constituents, such as Word Press and Delivera is preferred.
- Experience utilizing ticketing and/or registration software is preferred.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment testing including a criminal history and driving record check, and a drug test.
