Starting Hourly Rate: $16.00

Position Summary: The Saint Louis Zoo Events Team is looking for enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to join the team as day-of Events Facilitators.

Responsibilities: This position will have up to 4-6 shifts per month, March through December. Events Facilitators are responsible for executing an event using materials provided by the assigned Events Manager or Coordinator. This person brings the vision of the host to life by coordinating all event details on event day. This includes, but is not limited to, being the point person for the host or onsite lead, managing the timeline, overseeing the event space(s), ensuring the venue has been set up correctly, being a liaison between the Zoo and outside vendors, working closely with other members of the Events, Culinary, and Catering teams, troubleshooting all issues that may arise during the event, and communicating with a variety of other departments (attractions, audio visual, custodial services, education, facilities management, guest experience, safety and security, and volunteers).

The Saint Louis Zoo Events Team hosts over 200 hundred private events each year, as well as 49 public/ticketed events.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with event/hospitality experience and a valid driver’s license are required.
  • Must be positive, energetic, and able to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to set priorities, multitask, and be flexible.
  • Must be capable of working under pressure and maintain excellent front-line customer service and client/staff relations.
  • All successful candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods of time, work outdoors in all weather conditions if the event requires.

Work Schedule: Must be available to work daytime, evenings, weekends and some holidays.
