Financial Analyst - John Ball Zoo

The Financial Analyst collects and analyses operational and financial data generated from the organization’s software systems (primarily point of sale and accounting) to provide management with relevant metrics and key performance indicators. They create financial modules and analysis of business data to guide decision-making and track progress against financial goals. This position is responsible for developing a strong understanding of how the organization’s business processes and computer systems function.

• This position’s pay range: $48,500 - $56,900

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FINANCIAL ANALYST AT JBZ

• The Financial Analyst develops methodology for compiling and monitoring key metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as providing periodic reporting.
• They develop in-depth knowledge of how computer systems are used to record transactions and perform statistical analysis on business data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership.
• The Financial Analyst integrates data from multiple sources and writes queries and reports to provide data for various analytical projects.

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years work in a related field Affinity for the mission and values of John Ball Zoo Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments at the zoo Operating knowledge of computer systems Ability to identify and perform comparisons to industry trends Ability to comprehend business transactions and how they are reflected on computer systems Detail-oriented and able to apply analytical thinking
