HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION  
  • The Project Coordinator assists the Facilities Team with coordinating resources, equipment, meetings and information for all projects.
  • This position organizes projects to ensure successful and timely completion. This position reports to the Project Manager.  
WHAT YOU WILL DO  
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours and expenditures.  
  • Organize, attend and participate in vendor and stakeholder meetings and ensure open lines of communication at all times, including documenting and following up on action items.  
  • Responsible for contract negotiation and administration.  
  • Prepare necessary documentation for project presentations and meetings.  
  • Provide administrative support. 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 
  • The San Diego Zoo Safari Park facilities team seeks a project coordinator with strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • The project coordinator must be self-motivated, adaptable, and possess excellent problem-solving skills to assist with the changing circumstances of every project.
  • Time management is essential to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and assist in the management of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The project coordinator is responsible for tracking and maintaining capital and project budgets varying in complexity.
  • This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is comfortable navigating dynamic processes. 
JOB EXPERIENCE 
  • 1-2 years’ experience with construction industry process required.     
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS 
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field of study preferred.     
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE  
  • Knowledge of contract administration and negotiating.  
  • High-level understanding of construction techniques.  
Understanding of construction documentation including:
  • RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFIs (Request for Information), Submittal Logs, Payment Schedules and Change Order forms, control sheets. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent, proactive stakeholder communication. 
  • Ability to effectively manage and triage many competing priorities simultaneously. 
  • Management of more sophisticated project control software, intended to become the single source of project status and information.
