The Safari Experiences Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the Safari Park's premium experience operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of guest service and team engagement, while working collaboratively across the organization to optimize revenues and mission contribution. This position reports to the Director of Safari Experiences.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manages assigned Safari Experiences programs, and monitors all business aspects to optimize mission contribution, and develops and administers assigned budgets and KPIs.
- Leads a team focusing on team member engagement and creates a team-centered workplace. Oversees hiring, training and development, and performance management. Determines appropriate staffing needs to support programs.
- Represents San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliances in interactions with guests and the general public and supports guest recovery situations, and focuses on increasing guest satisfaction.
- Oversight of planning, development and implementation of new premium experiences, including the training and compliance of all program policies and procedures to promote a safe work environment for staff and guests.
- Collaborates with program supervisors to coordinate all necessary resources to execute premium experiences and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for administering and enforcing all department safety standards.

JOB EXPERIENCE
- Two Years’ Experience in business operations or hospitality management
- Two Years’ Experience providing customer service in a theme park or zoo or similar settings
- Experience working with represented labor
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree Business, Hospitality Management, Operations Management, or a related field: or equivalent specialized training or commensurate experiences preferred
- CPR & First Aid Certifications Upon Hire
- Current valid California Driver's License in good standing

- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team in a diverse environment
- Must possess superior customer relations skills
- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Able to operate moderately complex computer software programs
