GENERAL SUMMARY
- Lincoln Park Zoo is implementing new ticketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- We’re looking for a marketing expert to manage and grow key elements of a digital brand experience anchored by these platforms and our website.
- A combination of project manager, administrator, and marketer, this role will be responsible for charting and stewarding digital engagement before, during, and after guests visit the zoo
- . You will establish marketing integrations, ensure databases are set up to optimize marketing strategies, manage audience segments, create multi-channel strategies and tactics, and design custom guest journeys through our digital space.
- This role is heavily involved with email and marketing campaign strategy.
- It oversees media buying, and program/event promotions.
- It partners closely with M&C colleagues on data analysis and brand campaigns, and with the Development team, serving as a key bridge between the departments as we work toward common goals.
- For clarity, the role is NOT focused on organic social media, content, or design, except within Ticketure and in requesting content/asset development from the Communications and Design teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Seamlessly integrate the department’s twin goals of mission and revenue growth through digital engagement on lpzoo.org, Ticketure, email, and SMS, designing and managing strategy to convert visitors and supporters to highly-engaged fans, donors, and members.
- Supervise and mentor the marketing manager and marketing coordinator and their work on media buying, SEO and paid search, zoo and events promotion, content management on Ticketure, and executing marketing strategies and tactics.
- With VP and Director of Marketing, help configure Salesforce for marketing and select marketing platforms to pair with it. Establish the platforms with the goal to create, shape, and grow both mission and revenue.
- With Marketing team partners, leverage market and audience data, to create data-driven marketing strategies with measurable KPIs.
- Ensure we are properly tracking digital efforts, monitoring campaigns, and evaluating the work with insights from Salesforce and GA4.
- Collaborate within and across zoo departments to develop personalized marketing campaigns aligned with fundraising, mission, and programs/events.
- Build and oversee ongoing email and SMS strategies, including building drip campaigns, creating custom journeys, and reporting on key insights.
- In partnership with Lead Designer and other M&C colleagues, optimize lpzoo.org and the zoo’s new web app (launching spring 2024) for audience engagement, revenue generation, and mission growth.
- Support and promote content marketing in partnership with Communications.
- With Marketing Manager and Manager, Audience Research & Evaluation, align digital efforts with established evaluation KPIs.
- Using data and insights, create A/B tests and other new initiatives to evolve marketing efforts across channels, including SMS, paid display, CTV, and other digital efforts in the future as you evolve the program.
- Track revenue and other conversation metrics on digital campaigns and report insights to teams.
- Serve as an internal advocate for Salesforce and the growth of our marketing team and digital program.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing and/or consumer-facing CRM, with proven track record of executing successful programs using web, email, and other digital channels in a consumer-facing context
- Strong Salesforce experience required.
- Ticketure experience preferred.
- Nonprofit experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM required. NonProfit Cloud Consultant and/or Marketing Cloud Admin certification is a bonus.
- Must have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Quick learner and roll-up-your-sleeves leader who’s open to mastering new technology
- Ability to organize tasks, manage lots of moving pieces, keep meticulous records, and manage time to ensure completion of all projects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Hands-on experience using automated marketing/email software, CRM database systems, and Google Analytics.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interact courteously and respectfully with supervisors, fellow employees, volunteers, zoo guests and general public, clients and sponsors.
- Good-hearted, creative, forward thinking, resourceful, positive, and patient.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in an open office environment, and in-office/at zoo on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and at least one other day per week, and whenever the job calls for it.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Ability to remain in place for long periods of time.
- Ability to traverse zoo grounds.
- Ability to regularly perform a variety of physical tasks that include but are not limited to climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and/or crawling.
- Ability to operate and safely drive electric carts.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability and willingness to wear required PPE.
- Physical strength, including ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- No allergies to plants or animals exhibited on zoo grounds.
