ZooTampa at Lowry Park is seeking a Sr. VP / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee financial strategy, ensure long-term sustainability, and support our mission of connecting people with wildlife. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you’ll manage all aspects of finance, drive strategic initiatives, and serve as a trusted partner to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
Position Summary
- Oversees the organization’s financial operations, including financial planning, risk management, record-keeping, cash flow administration, and financial reporting.
- In collaboration with the CEO, is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the institution in the areas of finance management and long-term planning.
- Monitors key performance indicators to forecast fiscal sustainability and opportunities for managed growth.
- Also accountable for project management of strategic initiatives in accordance with CEO direction and board guidance.
- All the aforementioned in accordance with industry and regulatory standards, as well as institutional objectives and policies.

Executive Leadership Team Member
- The CFO reports directly to the CEO with a dotted line to the Audit and Finance Committees, and works as part of ZooTampa’s Leadership Team which collectively serves to fulfill the following priorities:
- Integrity and quality of the brand throughout
- Safety of the product and guest experience exceeding industry standards
- Price value and overall customer satisfaction
- Ongoing financial transparency, managed growth and sustainability
- Vibrant institutional culture
Functional Priorities
- Lead overall finance operations
- Guide other business operations, including IT and business analysis
- Manage long-term planning process in coordination with the CEO
- Monitor performance metrics to ensure institutional sustainability
- Report on the financial affairs of the institution as requested by the CEO or Board of Trustees
- Serve as primary staff liaison on Board of Trustee Committees
- Conduct all activities in alignment with all relevant laws and regulations
- Evaluate and interpret overall fiscal performance
- Serve as Chair of the Product Development Team and as facilitator for the Business Development
- Oversee all audits including, but not limited to, the institution’s annual audit
- Act as primary project manager of major initiatives as assigned by the CEO
- Help staff in budgeting and spending available funds appropriately

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required.
- MBA Preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of ten plus years in finance management and planning
- Experience working as a non-profit CFO

Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required.
