The Systems Analyst I performs a variety of professional systems analysis and programming work of a specialized or complex nature. This position reports to the Business Systems Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Support IT team in the application development environment.
  • Provide technical and software support by assisting in troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving software issues.
  • Follow the software development process for new and current program code including extract, transform and load processes.
  • Participate in the development of requirements for business process improvements/business process reengineering
  • Adhere to a structured test process for preparation of Production deployment.
  • Participate in versioning and source control of all development source code.
  • Participate in the implementation of new modules, enhancements, and software releases of third-party packages.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of application troubleshooting (Galaxy Certified System Admin highly desirable), a working knowledge of IT desktop support (hardware and software) and a very strong customer service orientation. 
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and an ability to script windows automation tasks will aid success.
Note:
  • Frequent travel between corporate sites required (San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Mission Valley)  
JOB EXPERIENCE
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience supporting an IT department or applications/systems support. 
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent specialized training and/or 1+ year of experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent specialized training and/or 1+ year of experience preferred.
  • Current and valid California Driver’s License in good standing
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Computer systems design, computer programming knowledge required.
  • Strong working knowledge of implementation/installation of third-party application software.
  • Microsoft language knowledge preferred.
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and above and associated tools (job scheduler, SSIS, backup/restore, etc.) knowledge required.
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines using effective time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a highly cohesive, diverse team.
